Charleston, SC - Because of BRAYDEN (www.BecauseofBRAYDEN.org), today announced that it will be hosting its 2nd Annual Water Safety Day & 5K Awareness Walk/Run at the Gahagan Sports Complex in Summerville, SC, on May 14, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EDT.
The 5K, walk and water safety day aim to raise awareness and educate families in the Lowcountry about the importance of water safety and drowning prevention. In addition, to raise funds for survival swimming lessons for infants and young children from Infant Swimming Resource (www.infantswim.com).
“There is not a day that goes by that we don’t think about and miss Brayden. I would give anything to turn back time and do things differently. Our only hope is that by sharing our story and working to spread awareness we can make it that no other family will have to go through what we have, said Michelle Zieg, Brayden’s mother and co-founder of Because of BRAYDEN. “Drowning IS Preventable and we believe that with education, layers of protection and awareness we can change the statistics to see lives saved.”

About Because of B.R.A.Y.D.E.N
Because of B.R.A.Y.D.E.N. (www.BecauseofBRAYDEN.org) was started by sisters, Michelle and Lauren, in May 2010, in memory of Brayden Russell Zieg. It is our desire to see others become more aware of the dangers of water, to help educate families in water safety and to prevent future drownings. Our Mission at Because of B.R.A.Y.D.E.N. is to educate the community about the importance of water safety. Through raising awareness, providing materials, and networking, we will raise the standards of safety to reduce the number of annual drownings. Furthermore, it will be to aid in funding the instruction of survival swimming lessons for infants and toddlers in the Lowcountry through Infant Swimming Resource (ISR).
