Our Lifesaving Program Makes an Impact in Hillsborough County, Florida

Infant Swimming Resource and our Certified Instructors have been working hard to see the day that Not One More Child Drowns and, as a company, we have been focusing on extending our reach to communities with particularly drowning rates. Hillsborough County, Florida is one such community where our ISR Certified Instructors are making a difference, sharing valuable water safety education, teaching ISR Self-Rescue lessons, and resources to prevent drowning.

Hillsborough County mother, Lindsey Mack, enrolled her daughter Emily in ISR Self-Rescue™ lessons with Certified Instructor Dianne Cutri. Her testimonial explains how our innovative program is saving lives.

Parent Testimonial, Lindsey Mack

If something were to ever happen, I have no doubt that ISR will save my child's life. My daughter Emily was 14-months-old when she began ISR Self-Rescue™ lessons in June 2011. She spent seven weeks learning and mastering the float technique with her Certified Instructor, Dianne Cutri. After spending the winter away from the pool, I knew I wanted her to refresh her skills.

Before her refresher lessons were to begin, we spent several days at our neighborhood swimming pool. One particular day, I got in the pool as I always do and stood back to watch Emily play with the ball we brought with us. She loves to throw the ball in the pool for me to get and return to her. However, that day she threw the ball in and it came back to the edge of the pool. She was reaching in to grab the ball and fell in head first.

I knew she knew what to do, but I wasn't sure how much she remembered. It had been ten months since she was taught those skills. I stood back for a second to see what she would do. Sure enough, Emily turned herself over and began to float. I was so proud of her and thankful to Dianne for teaching my girl how to save herself. Knowing that I was right there to witness this event made me confident that if something were to ever happen, Emily now has the knowledge and skills to save her own life. Thanks, Dianne!
